Maybe your pediatrician said "let's give it a few months," and a few months have passed. Maybe your child's teacher mentioned they're not using many words yet. If it's on your mind, it's worth asking.

It starts with a one-hour, play-based assessment. Your child's speech-language pathologist plays, listens, and asks what you're seeing at home, then builds a plan around real moments: asking for a snack, saying a friend's name, being understood at preschool.
Our speech team is led by Jessica Roberts-Grant, M.S., CCC-SLP, who brings more than 15 years of experience with young children, including autism and alternative communication (AAC). We work on late talking, understanding language, speech sounds, social communication, AAC, and feeding, and we coach parents at every step. See how we approach speech and feeding therapy.
Your speech therapist plays with your child, listens to how they communicate, and asks what you're seeing at home.
Goals tied to real moments: asking for a snack, being understood at preschool, mealtimes that feel calmer.
Play-based sessions, and one or two things to practice at home each week, so progress keeps going between visits.

Our Keller center brings speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA therapy, and a half-day school-readiness program together. Your child's therapists share what's working and set goals together, so you're not coordinating separate providers.
First words, being understood, picture and device communication, and mealtimes that feel calmer.
Fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills, from getting dressed to holding a crayon.
Play-based, child-led support for communication, social, and daily-living skills.
The bigger picture
Sometimes a speech delay comes with other differences, in how a child plays, connects with people, or handles change. Some of those children are autistic, and many aren't. If that question is on your mind, you don't have to figure it out alone.
ABA therapy
If an autism diagnosis is part of your child's story, ABA therapy happens in the same building, with a team that already knows your child. It's play-based, led by your child's strengths, and built around your family's goals.
Learn about ABA therapy at this center →ECI and school speech services help many kids, but they're built around eligibility rules and school schedules. Private therapy is built around your child.
Keep it. Private therapy works alongside Texas Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and Keller ISD services, and we're glad to coordinate with your child's team. ECI ends at age 3, and not every child qualifies for school services, so many families add private therapy then.
Most families use insurance, and we check your benefits before your first visit.

Yes. Many families use Texas Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and private speech therapy together, and we're happy to coordinate with your ECI team. When ECI ends at 3, private therapy keeps your child's progress going.
School speech focuses on what your child needs in the classroom and often happens in small groups. Private sessions are one-on-one, continue through the summer, and can work on goals at home and in play.
No. Speech therapy doesn't require any diagnosis. If you have questions about autism, we can talk through next steps when you call.
Many plans do. In Texas we accept Aetna, BCBS of Texas, TRICARE, UnitedHealthcare, and United Behavioral Health. Our intake team checks your plan before your first visit.
Often, yes. Both happen at our Keller center, so we try to schedule sessions back to back and save you a second trip.
