ABA Therapy for Young Children in Missouri City

Our Riverstone Blvd center is built around ABA for toddlers and young kids: asking for what they want in whatever way works for them, moving from play to lunch, getting through a haircut. When your child is getting close to a classroom, our half-day Prep School is the next step.

What happens after you reach out

Our intake commitments to Missouri City families:
  • You'll hear back within 24 hours of reaching out, and usually within two hours
  • Your child's assessment is typically scheduled within two weeks
  • Insurance verification is included in those two weeks
You can call before or after a diagnosis.

A plan built for your child

Every child gets a treatment plan based on their assessment, developmental level, and your family's goals.

Your BCBA recommends hours from what the assessment shows and revisits them as your child grows.

What does ABA look like for a 2- or 3-year-old?

ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is one-to-one therapy that builds everyday skills. For a toddler, it's play, and it feels like play to them. A therapist follows what your child is into and uses those moments to practice things that are hard right now, like asking for a snack with words, signs, or a device. A BCBA writes the goals, supervises the sessions, and changes the plan as your child grows.

Everyday goals families bring to ABA

Asking for a snack

With words, signs, or a device.

Taking turns with a toy

Practiced during play, the way it happens at home and at the park.

Leaving the park

Without a hard goodbye every time.

Sitting down for a family meal

You get coached too, so what works at the center can work at your kitchen table.

What is Prep School?

Prep School is our half-day program for children who are working toward a traditional classroom and still need one-to-one support. It runs like a school day, with group time, table work, and moving between activities, and a therapist right beside your child. Your BCBA talks with you about whether Prep School fits and when.

Ask about Prep School

What kids practice in Prep School

Asking for help

Getting a grown-up's attention in a group, with words, signs, or a device.

Moving between activities

Going from table work to play to snack when the schedule says it's time.

Being part of a group

Sitting with other kids for a story or a song and taking turns.

Doing more on their own

Hanging up a backpack, opening a lunch, the bathroom routine.

Is Prep School a fit for your child?

Who it's for

Kids in ABA who are getting close to a classroom but not quite there. Your BCBA talks with you about whether Prep School fits and when, based on your child's assessment and progress.

Why a half day

A long school day followed by an afternoon of therapy adds up to a lot for a young child. Prep School puts school practice and therapy support in the same half day, so there's still room in the day for being a kid.

Where it leads

The goal is a classroom where your child feels ready to belong. When the time comes, your BCBA helps you plan the move to school.

How do we get started with ABA?

1

We call you back

2
Come see the center

Meet the team, see the Riverstone center and the Prep School room, and ask your questions before anything is scheduled.

3
Your child's assessment and plan

A BCBA, a board certified behavior analyst, gets to know your child through play, talks with you about your goals, and recommends hours based on what the assessment shows.

What will ABA cost us?

We take Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and TRICARE, plus others. If your plan isn't on that list we'll still verify your benefits and tell you what ABA would actually cost you before you commit to anything.

FAQ: Families’ Most Common Questions

How is your ABA therapy different?

Every plan is built around your child, with hours recommended from the assessment instead of a preset number. Our approach is play-based and assent-driven: we pay attention to your child's cues and build cooperation through relationships, not by pushing through resistance.

Treatment plans are tailored to your child's strengths, interests, and long-term goals, and parents are part of the team.

Do you offer support beyond the therapy center?

Yes.

Parent collaboration is central to our model. We provide hands-on parent training so strategies can be used at home and in the community.

When appropriate, parent training can focus on real-life situations such as grocery store outings, transitions in public settings, bedtime routines, social play opportunities.

The goal is for your child to use new skills outside of therapy, too.

How does ABA support school readiness?

School success takes more than academic skills. ABA builds the ones that help children in a classroom: joining group activities, following routines, moving between tasks, communicating with teachers and peers, and doing more on their own.

For kids getting close to a classroom, our half-day Prep School lets them practice those skills in a room that feels like school, with one-to-one support.

The goal is a classroom where your child feels ready to belong.

Do you accept insurance?

We take Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and TRICARE, plus others.

If your plan isn't on that list we'll still verify your benefits and tell you what ABA would actually cost you before you commit to anything.

How many hours of ABA therapy will my child need?

The number of hours depends on your child's age, development, current skills, and goals.

During your comprehensive assessment, we evaluate communication, social development, independence, and school readiness skills. Based on those findings, we provide a clear, individualized recommendation.

Some children need more hours and some need fewer. Your BCBA reviews progress regularly and adjusts hours as your child grows.

Will therapy feel overwhelming for my toddler?

We understand how hard it can feel to consider therapy for a two- or three-year-old.

Our approach is play-based and assent-driven. That means we build trust first. We follow your child’s interests and use motivation, connection, and structured play to develop skills naturally.

For younger children, we often use gradual transition plans. Parents are involved. We prioritize emotional safety and relationship-building so therapy feels engaging. When children feel secure, learning happens!

Is this the same center as Pine Cone Therapies?

Yes. Pine Cone Therapies is now Gracent Pediatric Therapy, and the center is still at 4722 Riverstone Blvd, Suite 100, in Missouri City.

The best number for the center is 281-374-1847.

What ages do you serve?

Our Missouri City team works with toddlers, preschoolers, and young children.

Call us and we'll talk through where your child is and whether ABA or Prep School is a fit.

What if I’m not sure ABA is right for my child?

That’s completely okay.

The assessment process is designed to provide clarity. We evaluate your child’s strengths and challenges, discuss your concerns, and review whether ABA therapy is the appropriate next step.

If another service or support would better meet your child’s needs, we will guide you accordingly.

When can we start?

Your child's assessment is typically scheduled within two weeks of reaching out, and that includes verifying your insurance.
